What do qualification levels mean?
Level 3 and Level 4 describe different levels in the qualification framework. The GOV.UK guide to qualification levels lists awards, certificates and diplomas at both levels. The level alone does not tell you a course's subject, length or full content.
Compare the exact qualification title, awarding organisation, entry requirements and assessment, rather than relying only on the number. You can check regulated qualifications using the official qualification register.

What will you study on Level 3?
Moon's Level 3 Access to Aesthetics course develops the foundation knowledge needed for further study. Its published topics include:
- Clinic health and safety.
- Skin analysis and facial treatments.
- Client consultation and care.
- Anatomy and physiology.
- Electrical science.
The course combines online theory with practical learning. Its planned 12-week completion depends on keeping up with coursework, assessments and practical attendance. Ask the team how the workload fits around your commitments.
What will you study on Level 4?
Moon's Level 4 Advanced Aesthetic Therapies for Skin Rejuvenation course builds on existing Level 3 training. Its published topics include:
- Advanced consultation and client assessment.
- Skin science and dermatology for aesthetics.
- Microneedling for skin rejuvenation.
- Superficial chemical peels.
- Treatment planning, aftercare and safe clinical working.
The course includes four days of in-clinic practical training, one day for assessments and examinations, and 12 weeks of guided home study. Confirm the timetable for your booking with our team.
Do you need Level 3 before Level 4?
For Moon's skin rejuvenation course, you should already hold an appropriate Level 3 qualification. Having a qualification at Level 3 in an unrelated subject does not automatically establish eligibility. Send the team its full title and awarding organisation so they can check your route.
If you are starting without previous experience, ask about Level 3 first. If you already have relevant training, let us review it before you commit to another course.
Do these courses cover Botox or dermal fillers?
The Level 3 foundation and Level 4 skin rejuvenation courses compared here should not be treated as a blanket qualification for injectable procedures. Level 4 content listed here centres on skin treatments, including microneedling and superficial chemical peels.
Training for injectables has separate entry requirements, treatment scope, insurance and clinical arrangements. Tell our team what you ultimately want to offer so they can explain relevant options without assuming that one certificate covers everything.
How do dates and theory access work?
Moon has academies in Romford and Leigh-on-Sea. WhatsApp our sales team to confirm the training location and current availability for your chosen course. Practical dates are arranged with the team.
After booking, our team will be in touch within 24 hours with your theory access and to discuss practical training arrangements. Access is currently sent manually.
